Pinotect de Modern- Munich, 'Design' Exhibition

My husband and I visited the exhibition at Pinotect de Modern in Munich, titled 'Design.'  Objects of design were displayed representing from the beginning of Moderism to the present day. Catogories included automobile, furniture and jewellry design amongst others. My favorite was the diverse selection of jewellry on display, demonstrating an array of styles and materials. I do fancy a bit of jewellry making in the near future , some of the designs there were totally inspiring. My husband Nick is a graphic designer at  http://www.futuredc.co.uk/ and he particularly enjoyed the display about computer culture, showing examples of all the old apple macs. He was pretty sure he probably had some of those bad boys knocking about at the back of a garage somewhere.

We also enjoyed strolling amonst the masterpieces in the permanent collection of modern paintings. There were works  exhibited by Picasso, Magritte, Klee, Bacon, Warhol and my favorite, De-Kooning. One afternoon was justt not enough.
Standing here, I was reminded of a fascinating video I watched once on youtube, of Willem De-Kooning creating a painting, filmed in 1961.  I've just looked for it again but can't find it yet- I'll pop it on here though if it turns up. In looking at this guy's paintings it's impossible not to consider the making of them- every aspect of the work is testimony to the movement and expression of its creator.
