Anthony Gormley: Another World
Being on Crosby beach is a surreal experience. It would be hard not to feel touched somehow by Gormleys statues that adorn this beach. They appear to have lives of their own, standing solid against the ocean, withstanding, but not unaffected by the unforgiving waves. My children may have found these resilliant and yet ageing guys pretty hysterical, but I felt them to be beautiful and strange creatures, whose energy changed as they were revealed and hidden again by the fast changing tide.
