The Rothko Room, Tate Modern

Rothko Room
Rothko was, is and always will be my favorite painter. It goes without saying that the Rothko Room at Tate Modern was therefore an overwhelmingly emotional experience for me- as for most who enter it. I researched Rothko for my degree work both as a touch stone for my own practice and to provide a deeper understanding of the theories and ambitions of the great Abstract Expressionists.
Here is a link to a fab article documenting the personal response of John Banville at Tate Online,  to the Rothko Room and  'one of the strangest, most compelling and entirely alarming experiences to be had in any gallery anywhere.'
